Job Description

SONIFI® Solutions, the leader in technology solutions for the hospitality and healthcare industries, is looking to add a Manager of Corporate Accounting to our team who will be responsible for managing the general ledger, accounts payable, operations accounting, month end close process, financial reporting, and budget-to-actual analysis, and the development and application of internal control policies and procedures while assisting the Assistant Controller with various financial reporting activities and special projects. Provide knowledge and support as a business partner to operating departments and lead staff to improve processes and efficiencies.

What you’ll need:

  • College degree in Accounting and eight to ten years’ relevant experience required or the equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • Must possess professional knowledge of accounting procedures, concepts, and principles.
  • Must possess strong analytical abilities and problems solving capabilities.
  • Must demonstrate strong communication skills, strong administrative skills, the ability to multi-task, and systems and PC skills (NetSuite software experience preferred, Microsoft Office, etc.).

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the general ledger function by overseeing the day-to-day activities of the general ledger staff, ensuring all general ledger accounts are reconciled and supported, analyzing account balances for reasonableness and propriety, and reviewing accounting transactions ensuring they are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the accounts payable process by directing accounts payable staff, ensuring payable sub ledgers are maintained and reconciled to the general ledger, and ensuring efficient and timely processing and payment of expense reports and vendor invoices.
  • Manage the operations accounting activities including inventory, fixed assets, and project accounting, ensuring proper cut-off and matching of revenue and direct costs and ensuring reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers and CIP accounts to the general ledger.
  • Manage the financial reporting and analysis by overseeing the efficient and timely closing of accounting periods, reviewing the financial reports for errors and/or omissions with the Assistant Controller and assisting the Assistant Controller with compliance and reporting, formulating new internal reporting trends and concepts, and providing additional reporting and analysis when requested.
  • Administer internal control policies and procedures by executing and ensuring compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures, continuing development and refinement of accounting policies and procedures, and developing new controls and integrity reports (operational and systemic).
  • Manage the human resource functions by the hiring of new employees in the general ledger area and assisting with the hiring process in other accounting functions, ensuring employees receive proper training and cross training, ensuring adequate distribution of workload among staff for proper balance and training, ensuring compliance with the Company’s performance management program, and providing continuous coaching and development.
  • Facilitate automating and improving process efficiencies by developing or improving manual processes through system automation. Evaluate general ledger process or control “gaps” and define process to close those gaps.
  • Supervise business integration and strategic business formulation by assisting operating departments in identifying and implementing efficiency standards and developing new business practices and procedures.
