Job Description

We are looking to add a full-time internal accounting staff person to our company. As we grow and expand as a company, we need someone dedicated to all facets of accounting/finance to help with everything from data entry to financial analysis and presentation.

Within this role, you’ll perform all the good stuff that comes with general accounting duties, as well as work with leadership to create and optimize financial processes and standards within the firm. You’ll play a key role in establishing annual budgets and providing real time financial analysis to ensure we have the best information with which to make company decisions.

This position is likely to evolve as we pursue and meet our growth targets.

Roles and Responsibilities:

 General Accounting

  • Perform general accounting and other related duties
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Audit financial transactions, documents, and ongoing internal control policies
  • Ensure accuracy in accounting and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Complete regular month-end closing and produce comparative financial statements
  • Assist in year-end closing with outside CPA firm

 Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable

  • Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections
  • Match received vendor invoices to applicable purchase orders and confirm full receipt of goods or services
  • Ensure COGS (Vendor Payables) are matched and billed to clients
  • Process and System Optimization
  • Developing new or fine-tuning current financial processes (like procurement or collections)

 Budgeting and Financial Planning

  • Preparing timely and detailed dashboards and reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis, or as requested by leadership
  • Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity to department managers and VP / Ownership Group
  • Work with CEO to direct financial planning, forecasting, preparing budgets, and developing accounting policies
  • Regularly conduct an agency pricing review to ensure that we are achieving budgeted profit margins


Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:
• Accounting degree and at least 5+ years experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with a strong background in Sage Intacct highly preferred
• Possess reliable and broad knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial and business principles
• Experience creating, implementing, and fine-tuning timely accounting processes
• A strategic thinker and effective leader with the strong written/verbal skills
• Accurate with attention to detail and strong organizational skills even in a distracting environment
• A self-starter who is proactive and responsive in communications and actions
• Strong sense of personal accountability, taking ownership of projects assigned and meeting deadlines
